On the occasion of the centenary of Thessaloniki’s free existence (1912-2012), the Municipality of Thessaloniki, in cooperation with Navarino Network and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, organizes the first “Thessaloniki International Symposium in World Affairs” between September 28 and 30, 2012, at “Olympion” in Aristotelous Square. The aim of this initiative is to support the international perspectives of Thessaloniki and to establish the Symposium as an annual meeting of experts on important international developments.

This year’s Symposium will revolve around three broad thematic axes:

With Jonathan Spence, Sterling Professor of History Emeritus at Yale University, and author of the book “The Search for Modern China”. Read his short cv in English
